October Performances

Performing at the Empress Nursing Home

Performing at the Empress Nursing Home

Despite the heat it was yesterday’s performance at the Empress Nursing Home went well and had a great reaction from the audience.

Thanks to Suzanne and Erika from the Bridgewater Belly Dancers for performing with me. It was great to have you both there. Suzanne’s energetic Balkan fusion was impressive in the head and was a hit with the crowd. And thanks also to Sandra for dancing her two beautiful solos.

There are two more performances coming up this week on Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday night is the annual Belly Dance Amethyst “Spooky and Creepy” Halloween party at the Soul Box for students and friends. Anna, Jenny and I will be debuting our vampirates number on the night.

For a change of pace, a group of the Bridgewater Belly Dancers will be doing some Indian Fusion dances at the Callington show on Sunday. Hope to see you there!

New term starts this week

Term 4 starts this week at Belly Dance Amethyst.

After a very entertaining hafla at the end of last term and a couple of weeks rest, we’re back with renewed energy.

So if you’re interested in learning belly dance – or if you’re keen to be back after the holiday fortnight – come along to Bridgewater Hall this Thursday night at 7pm for Crimson: Fusion with an Indian flavour (open level) or at 8pm for Oriental Cabaret style Il Alem Allah (suitable for beginners).

See you Thursday night.

July 4th Hafla

Belly Dance Amethyst’s 4th of July hafla went off with a bang last night at the Adelaide Croation Club.

It was a great night – as always – and the new venue gave us plenty of space to dance.

The classes from the city, Parafield Gardens and Bridgewater performed term choreographies, along with appearances from Babylonia Tribal and the Goddess Within dancers from Pt Pirie. There was also a guest performance by Jariel and a special treat for Gulten staged by some of her dancers.

Thanks to the fabulous Bridgewater Babes for joining me on the stage floor for four dances last night. As always, it was a pleasure to dance with you all.
