It’s Almost Term 2

After a busy Term 1, the Bridgewater Belly Dancers did a great job (as always) in their performances at the end of term Hafla at the Hungarian Hall in Norwood – I’m very proud of you ladies.

And after our holiday break, term 2 starts next week at Belly Dance Amethyst. New dancers are very welcome at the beginners class at 8pm on Thursday nights. There’s also the open level class at 7pm on Thursday nights, too, for those with some dancing experience. We would love to see you there.

A Weekend of Dance

The dancing (and partying) started with Spooky and Creepy 3, Belly Dance Amethyst‘s pirate themed Halloween party, on Saturday evening at the Soul Box.  With the very entertaining and imaginative Halloween themed dances and a few kegs of pirate rum (or  champagne & red wine) a good time was had by all.

Sunday morning brought a completely different dance adventure for the Bridgewater Dancers with our Indian fusion performance at the Callington show.

Despite the heat it was yesterday’s performance at the Empress Nursing Home went well and had a great reaction from the audience.

Thanks to Suzanne and Erika from the Bridgewater Belly Dancers for performing with me. It was great to have you both there. Suzanne’s energetic Balkan fusion was impressive in the head and was a hit with the crowd. And thanks also to Sandra for dancing her two beautiful solos.

There are two more performances coming up this week on Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday night is the annual Belly Dance Amethyst “Spooky and Creepy” Halloween party at the Soul Box for students and friends. Anna, Jenny and I will be debuting our vampirates number on the night.

For a change of pace, a group of the Bridgewater Belly Dancers will be doing some Indian Fusion dances at the Callington show on Sunday. Hope to see you there!

The Bridgewater dancers made the trek down to Port Noarlunga last night to for our annual dinner show for the residents at Perry Park. Thanks to all those who came along to watch and enjoy the show. It was great to have such an appreciative audience.

And a big thank you to the Bridgewater dancers who were able to come along and perform, and to our special guest, Sandra, my dance partner from the Jewels of Isis. It was a great pleasure to dance with you all.

Can’t wait for the next shows coming up in September and October.
