For the kids…

Belly dance is a great way for kids to learn different movement and have fun in the process.

During boook week Reynella Primary School invited me to be part of their Living Library. Over the course of the day I was “borrowed” by four classes from year 1 to year 7.
In each class the kids learned about the history of belly dance and had a chance to use some belly dance props, from fan veils and fans to canes and swords. Each of the classes then joined in on a mini belly dance workshop, learning basic moves and shimmies.

Another fun way for kids to experience belly dance is with a belly dance birthday party. At Heidi’s party recently, I performed for the girls and then they all dressed up in hip scarves and veils and learned to belly dance and played some dancing games. As always the veil-red-rover was a big hit and even her big brother and his friend joined in.

Friday Night at the Hafla

Bridgewater class performing at the Hafla

Bridgewater class performing to Talakik

A wonderful time was had by all at the Bellydance Amethyst Hafla last Friday night.

There was great dancing, great company and a plethora of bling to buy!

The Bridgewater Beginners (Thursday night) class had their first ever performance at the show – and I thought they were fabulous! I was so proud of every one of them! Way to go ladies!!!

Bellydance Babyshower…

If you want something different for your baby shower, whether it’s fun and frivolity or gorgeous glamor that you’re looking for, why not have a bellydance baby shower.

Karinishka will perform for your guests and give everyone the chance to show off their best shimmy style.

It’s a great way to break the ice with friends and relatives and get everyone to join in the celebration.
